Ian Simon is a Filipino, Toronto-based filmmaker. His visual style and passion for storytelling are heavily influenced by his love for dance, movement, music, fashion, his Filipino heritage, and his life experiences. The early stages of his career began when he was doing videography work for dancers and local businesses eventually being granted the opportunity to produce his first short narrative-dance film commissioned by CanAsian Dance, debuting his career as a film director.
Ian was also chosen to be one of the four creators for the 2023 Welcome Toronto Creators Program where his work will be showcased under the Raptors and their G League Affiliate, Raptors 905 brand.
He has directed, produced, and edited works for a range of clients such as Honda, MYX Global (Philippines), Michele Romanow, 437, Hush Blankets, the Government of Canada, and independent artists across North America.
Being a multifaceted artist, Ian has cultivated a skillset like none other which has also helped him develop his own unique and ever-evolving style in creative direction.
